Is a 100% Vegan Diet Most Efficient for Land Use?

I just read an interesting article, though the click-bait title is a little misleading: A Vegan Diet Is Less Efficient For The Planet Than An Omnivorous One. The question is “less efficient” than what?

According to the study, a completely vegan diet for everyone would still be almost twice as efficient as the current situation.

The most efficient diet (for land use) in the chart was the 80% lacto-vegetarian (no eggs) diet. And they should have included another potential solution: entomophagy. 🙂

It takes almost 2,600 gallons of water to produce a pound of beef, but very little water to raise a pound of grasshoppers — and they taste fine.

Take a look at the article and study, and let me know what you think in the comments below!
